It's time to share our 2024 activity report and the impact assessment of our awareness-raising activities.
Using two questionnaires sent to participants, we are able to assess whether our corporate awareness activities have a tangible impact on participants. This year, we carried out a total of 164 corporate activities, including 11 abroad, reaching 6,660 people with key environmental messages.
The year 2024 marks a pivotal moment for Act!, with a stabilized team and a steady number of activities. Despite a more challenging financial context, several major developments should be highlighted: the creation of two new educational formats (the Surfrider Plastic Pollution Fresco and the Solutions Game), and continued support for companies in organizing their engagement days. This momentum strengthens both our mission and our impact.
Key figures for 2024
We estimate that over 6,660 people were reached through Act! with Surfrider activities. Among them, 4,723 were corporate employees and 1,870 were members of the general public, engaged through open events co-organized with Surfrider's partner companies.
Our 2024 activities
Among the 157 in-person activities conducted in 2024, most took place in the Île-de-France and South-West regions of France. We also led 11 international waste collections: 4 in Germany, 3 in England, 2 in Spain, and 1 each in Belgium and Italy. Altogether, these actions led to the collection of 93,813 cigarette butts and 16,920 kilograms of waste, actively contributing to environmental protection.

Waste collection events—whether on foot, by kayak, or electric boat—remain our most requested activity, accounting for 47% of our programming. In an effort to diversify our offering, we've expanded our activity portfolio, and this strategy is proving effective: in 2023, waste collections represented 67% of our events. This shift reflects the rise of climate-themed escape games, quizzes, and other awareness modules, broadening the scope of our engagement.
